Description

Our estate-grown fruit includes three distinct Shiraz clones, each planted in separate blocks. This diversity isn’t just about risk management - it’s about expression: the ability to showcase just how distinctive Shiraz clones can be. PT-10 and PT-23 are clones which emerged as the most successful from pruning trials in Griffith, NSW in the 1960s, with a direct genetic lineage back to the original James Busby selection taken from Hermitage Hill in the Rhône in 1832. This PT10 Shiraz clone is a beautifully perfumed and savoury wine. Aromas of violet, white pepper and dried herbs intertwine with distinctive umami notes of black olive and dried bayleaf. The palate is layered and spice-driven, revealing red plum and black cherry fruit with refined tannins and exceptional length.
